Sharing the magic of dance with the children of Sheffield!
Here at the Heights we are proud to be the school where your child has a name not a number!
Since the beginning our aim has been to provide excellent dance tuition in an environment where all can excel. We offer classes in:
Ballet, Tap and Modern Theatre.
Our class numbers are small to ensure we can provide each pupil with the attention they deserve. We believe in giving our students every opportunity to perform and bring their work to life on stage.
Available to our dancers who would like to experience more dance forms:
Contemporary, Commercial, Musical Theatre, and Acrobatic Dance.

Our dance classes in Sheffield are for everyone who loves dance, from twirling tots to aspiring teens. Students can make new friends in a fun, safe, and friendly environment, gaining confidence and poise, as well as aiding the development co-ordination, musicality and imagination.
The dance school is continuing to achieve excellent ISTD grades for the pupils exam work and is continuing to go from strength to strength as a centre of excellence in Performing Arts.

Personal Connections
Our mission is to be the school where your child has a name not a number. By keeping our class sizes small we are able to get to know our wonderful pupils on a personal level. Ideal Location
Not only do we value community, you'll find us right in the middle of it! We're based in Hallam Community Hall, next door to Hallam Primary School. This allows us to offer free school pickup to any of our infant/junior pupils at Hallam Primary School on weekdays.
Family Friendly
We have classes available for tots who walk all the way to adults - everyone is welcome at The Heights. We love getting to know and support the families of our dancers, you are part of our school too and it's always a pleasure to welcome you to school events or simply say hi at drop off/pickup.

The community hall offers us spacious dance halls with sprung floors for safe dancing! We have two purpose built changing rooms and a fully functional kitchen available to us. We equip our classes with mirrors, ballet-barres, and props galore to ensure our dancers have the best possible expereince.
Teaching Team
Our team of staff are professional, kind-hearted individuals who want to see their students thrive. Our teaching team is consistent and all have been with us long-term - this allows our students to experience steady and stable preparation for exams, shows, and events with staff who know them and their needs. Get to know us here!
Letting Kids Be Kids
We know many parts of modern society are making children grow-up much faster than before. By always choosing age-appropriate music, movements, and costume we aim to ensure that our dancers can enjoy the beauty of childhood for as long as possible. It may not be what is 'popular' or seen on social media but it matters to us!
Ballet Pianist
We are one of the only (if not the only) dance school in Sheffield to have a live pianist in every ballet class! Bringing the music to life in lessons allows our dancers to learn more about music and its relationship to dance as well as enhancing the flow of lessons and teaching.
Numerous Opportunities
We believe every dancer should have the opportunity to experience performance as dance itself is a performing art. Our annual school shows are the only ones in Sheffield to produce a full-length children's ballet as well as a themed divertissements. We also arrange numerous other opportunities and trips to give our dancers the widest and richest experience possible.
Community
We call our community our Heights family and it really is! We are a close community built on love, acceptance, and support. Many of our students start with us as tots and don't leave until they are 18 and in that time we really do see bonds formed that will last a lifetime. We also like to extend the magic of dance to our wider Fulwood community, performing for the HCYA fete and at local nursing homes and giving back to those around us.
Opportunity
We believe every dancer who walks through our doors deserves opportunity. Opportunity to be the best dancer they can be. Opportunity to thrive as an individual and as part of a group. Opportunity to perform on stage and beyond. Opportunity to progress and develop in dance technique. This is our priority for all our dancers.
Passion
We believe in being passionate about everything we do. Our passion lies not simply in dance but in creating a positive learning environment for all our students, for encouraging them in their endeavours, for sharing a love of performance, music, and expression.
